World Premiere: Marry The Night

Gotta be honest, here. I feel I owe that much, after Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta makes it continually obvious that honesty is indeed the best policy. This video got my eyes pretty wet, and it's all completely due to that same stroke of humanity.
Lady Gaga's new video for Marry the Night has finally arrived. I was thinking it would be another dramatic epic such as Alejandro, which it is, though containing a lot more personal detail. Directed by the Lady herself, she displays her own vision of the activities that took place during the worst day of her life, and the effect it has had on it since. My favorite part of the video features a dance class, a space for learning, filled with personified symbols of her past self, and possibly future or current. These were the people she had "left behind" in her old apartment building (maybe?), which in itself is huge, cavernous, and cathedralesque. The building could be seen as her mind, or her life, both of which she was walking out of in order to begin something fresh. However, she continues to go through her trials simultaneously alone and ever surrounded by her memories and alter egos, feeling trapped by some, comforting others, and agreeing to share space with all of them.
This is a tribute to her own life, as well as to anyone who's ever suffered fates wrath. It commends those who have stood up against the weight of the world and said, "I'm going to be a star," in whatever way they say it.
Any and all hats off to Gaga. Big ass hats. Hats made of hair. Fur hats, meat hats, lace and iron hats. I can't imagine one I could wear that she wouldn't accept gratitude from. And that's just one thing I like about her. _____________________________________________________
