Rubber Sole - Melissa Shoes from Brazil

                      These. Are. Awesome.
I have felt put off about the concept of rubber shoes since the second Crocs became all the rage. However, it looks like you can do something with rubber for your feet that results in something other than a big bubble around them. Bubbles on your feet may sound okay, but in my opinion, avoiding them is not a bad move.

After seeing the results from what they've done in their Brazilian-based factory, I may be sold to the new trend. Melissa Shoes are doing mindblowing things. I first came across this brand while traveling in Singapore and picking up a magazine called Plastic, which focuses on their mission of creating epically cute styles out of, you guessed it, plastic and rubber. It seems like since I first checked out their designs, they've gone even further with even better new ones too. And their collaborators list is quite impressive, sharing skills with the likes of the amaaazing Gaetano Pesce, and the ever-fierce Vivienne Westwood.

The only place you can officially purchase them are in New York (of course, right), but there are plenty of online shoe shops that carry them. To see the whole collection, go here, and go crazy.
